Adding and Removing Domains and Subdomains
What this is
You can connect additional domains and subdomains to your website — useful for hosting a blog on blog.yourdomain.com or adding an alternate domain name.
How to add a domain
- Go to Websites → click your website.
- Click the Domains tab in the top navigation.
- Click Add domain.
- Select the type: addon domain, alias, or subdomain.
- Fill in the domain name (and document root directory, if prompted).
- Click Add.
Managing a domain
Click the ⋯ menu next to any domain → Manage. From here you can:
- Change the document root (the folder the domain points to).
- Enable DKIM for email authentication.
- Configure mail routing.
- Manage DNS records.
Removing a domain
Click the ⋯ menu next to the domain → Delete.
Heads up: Deleting an addon domain also removes its DNS zone. Make sure you no longer need any DNS records associated with it.
Good to know
- Subdomains can be added as part of an existing website (sharing files and resources) or as a separate website (with their own independent resources).
- Your hosting plan may limit the number of domain aliases you can add.
