Allowing Remote MySQL Connections
What this is
By default, your database only accepts connections from your website's server. If you need to connect from an external application or your local computer (for development or management), you can allow specific IP addresses.
How to allow remote access
- Go to Websites → click your website → Databases tab.
- Click the database user you want to allow remote access for.
- In the Remote access IP field, enter the IP address you want to allow.
- Save.

Good to know
- You allow remote access per user, not per database. So you can have one user that's local-only and another that allows remote connections.
- Only add IPs you trust. Exposing MySQL to the internet is a security consideration.
- For connections from within the same server, the container IP is automatically allowed.
