Enabling SSH Access and Adding Keys
What this is
SSH gives you command-line access to your website's server environment. You can run scripts, use tools like WP-CLI or Composer, and manage files with precision.
How to enable SSH with a key (recommended)
- Go to Websites → click your website → Advanced → Developer Tools.
- In the sidebar, click SSH key manager.
- Click Add.
- Enter a descriptive name (like "My laptop") and paste your public key (or upload the
.pub file).
- Click Upload.
The panel will display the SSH login command you'll use to connect.
How to enable SSH with a password
- In Developer Tools, click SSH password authentication.
- Click Reset to set a password (or click the key icon to auto-generate one).
- Click Save.
The login command is shown on screen.

Good to know
- You connect to a container that mirrors your website's PHP environment — you see the same files and binaries your site uses.
- You can add multiple SSH keys.
- Cron jobs cannot be edited from SSH. Use the panel's Developer Tools interface instead. See Setting up scheduled tasks.
