Forcing HTTPS on Your Website

What this is

Force HTTPS redirects all visitors from http:// to https://, ensuring every connection is encrypted. This is recommended for every website.

How to enable it

  1. Go to Websites → click your website → Advanced → Security.
  2. Go to SSL certificates → click the certificate → Edit.
  3. Toggle Force HTTPS on.

This creates a permanent (301) redirect from HTTP to HTTPS at the web server level.

Good to know

  • Make sure your SSL certificate is working before enabling Force HTTPS, otherwise visitors will see security warnings.
  • If you need HSTS (HTTP Strict Transport Security), you can add it manually via .htaccess: Header always set Strict-Transport-Security "max-age=31536000; includeSubDomains" Start with a low max-age (like 300) for testing before committing to a long duration.
