How TrustEdge Backups Work
What this is
Automatic backups are enabled for your websites. In the control panel, you can restore an available backup or create one before making changes. Check that the backup has finished before you continue.
What's included in a backup
- Website files (your entire home directory).
- All databases associated with the website.
- Email accounts and messages.
- DNS records.
How automatic backups work
- Backups run on a schedule configured by TrustEdge (you don't need to set anything up).
- The system uses incremental backups, meaning only changes since the last backup are stored. This is efficient and fast.
- You can view your available backup points from: Websites → Manage on your website → Backups.
What backups do NOT cover
- Changes made after the most recent backup.
- The
php-error.log file (excluded to save space).
- Permanently deleted websites cannot be restored through self-service — contact us and we may be able to recover from archived data.
Keep your own copy
For long-term storage, use Backup and Download in Backups and save the file on your computer or storage you control. This creates a fresh copy of your current website files and databases. Email is downloaded separately, and cron jobs are not included.
