My SSL Won't Issue

What's happening

Your SSL certificate is stuck on "pending" or keeps falling back to a self-signed certificate.

How to fix it

1. Check your DNS

Let's Encrypt validates via HTTP — your domain's A record must point to your TrustEdge server. Check at whatsmydns.net.

2. Check .htaccess

Some .htaccess rules block the .well-known/acme-challenge path that Let's Encrypt uses for validation. Temporarily rename .htaccess and manually request the certificate:

Advanced → Security → SSL certificates → ⋯ menu → Request Let's Encrypt Certificate.

3. Wait for backoff to clear

If the certificate has failed multiple times, the system increases the retry interval to avoid rate limits. Wait a while, fix the underlying issue, then try again.

4. Check Cloudflare settings

If you're using Cloudflare, make sure the SSL mode is set to Full (not Flexible or Strict).

5. New domain?

DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours. If you just pointed your domain, the certificate may just need more time.

Still stuck?

Email representative@trustedge.gt and we'll investigate.
