Creating a MySQL Database
What this is
Databases store the dynamic content behind your website — things like blog posts, user accounts, product listings, and form submissions. Most CMS platforms (WordPress, Joomla, etc.) require at least one database.
Before you start
You need to create a database user first before creating the database. See Creating a database user.
How to create a database
- Go to Websites → click your website → Databases tab.
- Click Add database.
- Enter a database name.
- Select one or more users and assign their privileges (either "All database privileges" or specific permissions).
- Click Add.
Good to know
- Database sizes are shown in the listing so you can track how much space each one uses.
- If you need PostgreSQL instead of MySQL, contact representative@trustedge.gt to check availability.
- The connection details you'll need for your application (host, port, username, password) are shown on the database management page.
