Uploading a Custom SSL Certificate

What this is

If you have an SSL certificate from another provider (like Sectigo, DigiCert, or your own CA), you can install it manually instead of using the free Let's Encrypt certificate.

How to install a custom certificate

  1. Go to Websites → click your website → Advanced → Security.
  2. In the SSL certificates section, click Install custom SSL.
  3. Select the domain from the dropdown.
  4. Paste your certificate (CRT) text — or upload the file.
  5. Paste your private key text — or upload the file.
  6. Click Upload.

Good to know

  • If your custom certificate expires and you haven't renewed it, the system will automatically attempt to request a free Let's Encrypt certificate 3 days before expiry as a fallback.
  • Custom certificates are useful for EV (Extended Validation) or OV (Organization Validation) certificates that display your business name.
